Cubs

Cub Scouts are young people usually aged between eight years and ten and a half years old. They belong to the second Section in the Scouting family.

There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and climbing. Badges can be gained by taking part in activities at Cubs and elsewhere.

Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, and we run a huge range of residential trips. Regular highlights include:

  • Local camps various local campsites
  • Group Camp (a weekend away with the Scouts and Beavers!)
  • Brownsea Island Weekend (every 2 years – a return to the birthplace of Scouting)
  • Pirate Pack Holiday (every 2 years – weekend residential in Bristol)
  • Summer Camp (4 or 5 nights somewhere a bit further from home)

Typically we will offer 5 residential experiences (either camps or indoors) over the course of each year, with trips ranging from 1 to 5 nights.

Weston Cubs also enjoy District events and these in the past have included camps, cooking competitions and activity days.
